August’s Feature Dog For Adoption!

July 30, 2012 • Author: Ruff Haus

Duke is an adorable 5 month old German Shepherd who was sent to Precious Paws from the Barrie SPCA. He was brought in as a stray with a severely injured leg and unfortunately they found out that his elbow was fractured and because it had been left too long by a previous owner, the only option was to amputate the leg. So Precious Paws was contacted and asked that they take him into rescue and they were happy to help!

Duke is now recovering well from his leg amputation and he's also been neutered. He does have a couple weeks to go in foster care but in the meantime they are accepting applications on him so that they have the perfect home lined up for him when he's ready to be adopted!

Duke gets along great with other dogs and would love to find a home with a buddy to keep him company. Due to the recent surgery, they are looking for a home without too young of children as Duke is still a little nervous and will need to build his socializing skills. He'd be happy in a home with older kids though!

Duke is working on his crate training and doing well on housetraining so far. He would love to attend obedience classes so that he can learn some new tricks and build on the skills he's already learned.

Duke's adoption fee is $450 and includes up to date vaccines, deworming, wellness bloodwork, neuter and microchip. Email Precious Paws today for an application
