Reopening – May 19th, 2020

May 15, 2020 • Author: Ruff Haus

To our wonderful Ruff Haus family,

The time has finally come and we couldn’t be more excited to announce that we are reopening on Tuesday, May 19th!  It has been a long time and we can’t wait to see you all soon! Thank you so much for your patience and support while we did our part in flattening the curve.

We will currently be open for daycare and grooming services only. All training classes are still on hold due to the government gathering guidelines. We are anxious to continue classes and will advise all students once we have the green light to continue.

As you know, the safety of our staff and clients is always our number one priority and to ensure the safest possible environment upon reopening, we are proud offer you a CDC regulated pandemic protocol clean of our entire facility conducted by Angel Wings Cleaning Services. In addition to our clean, we have also successfully completed the Professional Pet Groomers Covid-19 certification training and test.

Moving forward, we will have some new safety measures put in place to ensure that we are providing the safest environment possible for everyone and adhering to guidelines. Please read the following carefully and feel free to contact us should you have any questions or concerns:

  1. If you are feeling sick (or have been within a two week period from your appointment date), have travelled within the last two weeks or have been in contact with someone who is ill, please do not bring your dog in.
  2. As our reception area is small, we will only be allowing 1 person in at a time to adhere to social distance guidelines. If you are coming to drop off or pick up, please wait by the designated sign outside of the front door. Once empty, you are welcome to enter the building.
  3. Please use the hand sanitizer that is provided upon entry into the building.
  4. To minimize contact and to maintain physical distance, we will be asking when you arrive to just drop your leash and allow your dog to come to the daycare door. The same will be done upon pick up. We will allow your dog to go right to you from our daycare door instead of handing the leash to you. If you wish, you are also welcome to keep your leash and collar with you.
  5. We will not be accepting cash payments at this time. We encourage you to pay using etransfer to, Debit, Visa or Mastercard. Our machine will be sanitized before and after each use. Payments can also be made over the phone with a credit card for your convenience. If paying in store, please consider using the tap option for contactless payment.  If paying by etransfer, please be sure to include your dogs name in the notes.
  6. As an additional safety measure, we have installed a plexi glass partition at our front desk.
  7. We will no longer have a treat jar available at the front desk for the time being.
  8. Please check your vaccine records before booking your daycare or grooming appointments. We will do our very best to issue reminders to those that are due however we may not be able to reach everyone. If you have any questions about your dogs vaccines, please contact your veterinarian.
  9. We have extended our requirement to see proof of your dogs flea and tick treatment until July 1st.

If your dog has an ongoing daycare schedule and you cannot make it, we do require notification before 10:00am the day of your appointment as per policy. If you require changes to be done, please contact us at via e-mail to and someone will be happy to help you.

We are so excited and look forward to seeing everyone again!  😁
